MeLeigha and her business partner Nelda Eads’ commitment to their rural community and always putting patients’ needs first is at the heart of their business, Hometown Pharmacy of Campbellsville, PLLC. “As a pharmacist in rural healthcare, and practicing in a retail setting my entire career, the relationships and trust with our patients is the core reason why I became pharmacist.” MeLeigha and Nelda were leaders during the COVID-19 pandemic and quickly pivoted to serve their communities. “We designed a test-to-stay program for students in multiple school districts to allow them to return to in-person learning safely. We also were the first pharmacy in our area to provide drive-through testing and vaccination services throughout the pandemic. We always strive to think outside the box to find needs and meet them.” The duo is involved with the Kentucky Pharmacists Association along with local community groups, schools, businesses and churches to identify needs and find ways to improve rural health outcomes. “Our passion is to do more for our community and the next generation and to keep pursuing the highest standards of healthcare for our hometown.”
